Security Surveillance
When choosing a power adapter for your Mini PC, you need to consider factors such as voltage, current, power, interface, safety certification, and application scenario. The main key points are as follows:
Electrical Core Parameters
Output Voltage (V)
The output voltage of the power adapter must be exactly the same as the voltage required by the Mini PC. The input voltage of Mini PC is usually 12V, 19V, or 20V. The deviation between the output voltage of adapter and the device requirements should not exceed ±5%, otherwise there is a risk of damaging the hardware.
Output Current (A)
The rated output current of the power adapter should exceed the requirement current of the Mini PC. If the current of power supply is greater than the requirement current of Mini PC and that is fine, but the current less than the requirement current of Mini PC will lead to insufficient power supply and system instability.
Power (W)
The rated power of the power adapter should be greater than the rated power required by the Mini PC. It is recommended to leave a 10-20% margin. For example, if the Mini PC's rated power is greater than the Mini PC's rated power, the power adapter should be greater than the Mini PC's rated power. The Mini PC is rated at 19V/3.42A (approximately 65W). The power supply should be 65W or higher, such as 20V/3.25A.

Physical Interface Type
DC Interface
This is a commonly used interface type in the market, with dimensions of 5.5/2.5mm or 5.5/2.1mm. The technology is mature, and the output is stable. Accessories for this type of interface are readily available from various brands and with the same power rating. PCs are generally compatible.
USB-C interface
It supports the PD protocol, are simple and convenient, and can share chargers with mobile phones and laptops. However, high-power GaN chargers are more expensive than power adapters with the same wattage, and require specific charger protocol compatibility.
Special interface
Special interface is less commonly used in the market, has poor compatibility, and can easily lead to being "locked in." If the original adapter is damaged, it can only be purchased from the original manufacturer at a high price, and third-party replacements are not available.
Quality and Safety
Safety Certifications
Always choose products with national mandatory certifications (such as Chinese CCC certification) and international certifications (such as CE and FCC certifications). These certifications indicate that basic safety standards have been met in areas such as electromagnetic compatibility, fire retardancy, and overload protection.
Protection Measures
The power adapter should have overvoltage protection (OVP), overcurrent protection (OCP), and short circuit protection (SCP). It should promptly cut off power in case of abnormalities to protect your Mini PC.
